Updated: Jun 9, 2021

Pittsburgh, June 9th) - Pittsburgh City United FC owner Michael Anton Monsour and Full90 CEO Tim Killeen will be on hand to announce a historic sponsorship extension for Full90 just seven days after agreeing to a multi-year deal with the team.

“The need for headgear in soccer is a need that is long overdue and should have been addressed by every major governing body related to this sport, years ago. The science is clear enough in regards to the long term effects on these players that it should no longer be a conversation, but a necessity.”

Michael Anton Monsour owner, PCUFC

According to a study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine titled, “ The Effectiveness of Protective Headgear in Reducing Concussions and Head Injuries in Adolescent Soccer Players,” players NOT wearing Full90 headgear during the study experienced 2.7 times as many concussion symptoms than those who wore the headgear.

The team will also require all players to wear protective head gear for their games, which Full90 has agreed to provide in an effort to spread awareness of the need of stronger safety measures when it comes to head trauma in soccer.

Full90 Sports LLC is recognized in the soccer community as the company that brought attention to the issue of concussions; and is the leader in protective headgear for soccer players worldwide.

Now under the leadership of CEO Tim Killeen, the company’s mission was and still is to raise awareness about head injuries and concussions, and ultimately assist in the adoption of new equipment and rules in soccer to reduce head injuries. During our journey, we have met and helped a lot of pro and amateur players suffering from head injuries, on and off the field. We are proud that some of the players we helped, had such a strong connection to our mission that they eventually became employees.

Pittsburgh City United FC will also announce “ Tryout Dates” and locations for their upcoming inaugural season in the UPSL.
