City United loses
4-2 in friendly to Steel FC
Pittsburgh City United and Appalachian Steel Football Club met on the pitch for the first time on December 4th at Southpointe Field house in Cannonsburg, PA.
The match was filled with tons of energy and excitement as, it did not take long for City United to strike the first blow as winger Almuthena Baled converted a 25 yard free kick in the first 16th minute of the match.
Steel FC were able to strike back 10 minutes after, as they we able to convert two goals. Not too long after the 2nd goal, striker Bimal Bista after shooting an absolute rocket that rang off the Steel City post was able to put one in the back of the net off of a chipped pass over the back line from Zander Plizga making the match 2-2.
The second half saw a completely different eleven on the field which allowed the game to be higher paced with fresh legs from City United. Unfortunately, that didn't stop Steel FC from scoring as they were able to slip 2 in the back of the net having the match end at 4-2.
City United's first test before the spring season was an exciting one. We are eager to see how the team will look as they get more games under their belts in order to prepare for the spring season.
